Footpath, Improved Access

Sambourne PC - Improved Access to Footpaths Initiative.

As part of the Improved Access to footpaths initiative, managed by Sambourne Parish Councillor Nick Moon, work has been carried out to repair and replace stream crossings along several public footpaths. The bridges have all been widened to enable access for mobility scooters and double pushchairs. The work has been funded by WCC and installed by volunteers including local landowner Bobby Green for one of the bridges and Solihull Ramblers Association.

The next stage of the project (match funded by WCC and The Ramblers Association) is to replace kissing gates and stiles with self- closing gates along the identified routes.

This is to facilitate wider access for those currently unable to navigate kissing gates and stiles.

14 gates in all have been replaced.
